Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center to add two towers
Friday, November 3rd, 2006The AJC reported today that Grove Street Partners will build a 15 story office building and an 18 story hotel/condo tower on the land adjacent to the new Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center. The arts center is quite an amazing structure and will be the new home of the Atlanta Opera. Now with the two proposed buildings the center will have just the velocity the area needs according to those involved. It’s an exciting concept, very pedestrian-friendly,” said Michele Swann, general manger of the coliseum authority. “It definitely lends itself to someone coming to theater to come early and have dinner.”
The Performing Arts Center is the brain child of developer John Williams. His plans are to bring an intown flavor to the suburbs by creating a walkable focus of activity near the center.
